Following a series of high-profile bursts on an existing 10″ PVC water main, Network Plus appointed Caecillian Utilities to deliver a long-term solution for the Bollington community. Before works began, we engaged with residents and local businesses to understand their concerns and shape a programme that minimised disruption while delivering 650m of new 315mm water main.

With the main serving as a critical outlet from the local reservoir, outages were limited to six hours and supported by Alternative Supply Vehicles to maintain customer supply. Temporary overland mains, lift-and-lay installation methods and the reconstruction of an abandoned 300m access road ensured residents maintained safe, 24/7 access throughout the project.

By combining careful planning with genuine community engagement, the project was delivered successfully with minimal disruption. The scheme received 17 accolades from the 20 affected residents, and its success has led to Caecillian being invited to support the next phase of the network replacement programme.
